About The Position

The Sanitation Technician cleans and maintains assigned areas and machinery, controls parts such as gaskets, and replaces broken or missing parts. The role may help set up equipment in the assigned department or on other production lines and is responsible for preparing cleaning solutions and handling other chemicals. The position works the 11:45 PM–7:50 AM shift. Pay is listed as $22.40 per hour; the posting also states pay starts at $21.75 per hour and describes a $1,500 sign-and-stay bonus program. The technician tears down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift, cleans and sanitizes machinery and work areas, and helps set up before morning production. Requirements

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
Basic understanding of machinery teardown and setup.
Cleanup (parts) experience.
Ability to work in a wet and cold environment at 45°F (4°C).
Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
Ability to handle a 900 PSI water hose continually.
Ability to lift 10–50 lbs, including moving, lifting, and pushing machinery.
Ability to climb up and down ladders as part of the daily work schedule.
Ability to stoop and reach overhead, including bending and twisting.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math functions and skills.
Poultry experience (preferred but not required).
Basic understanding of chemicals.

Responsibilities

Use chemicals to clean and sanitize assigned machinery and areas.
Tear down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift.

Maintain control of parts, including gaskets, and replace broken or missing parts.
Prepare mixtures of cleaning solutions and other chemicals.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, area leader, Sanitation Manager, or other members of management.
Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow Standard Operating Procedures and safety requirements.
