This position is responsible for the equipment, CIP (Clean-In-Place), and sanitation of the Processing and Production lines, equipment, and plant infrastructure. The role focuses on minimizing product loss, performing daily drain sanitizing, and effectively operating the floor scrubber. Maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to all plant safety, USDA, SQF, and GMP guidelines are crucial. This role also involves record keeping and documentation reviews for sanitation programs, knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and promoting open communication. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific to job tasks, and collaborating with Production, Processing, QA, and Maintenance partners to meet line performance goals. Proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are essential, as is accounting for and communicating MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) program outages. The technician will also audit environmental cleanups during CIP for improvements, track and react to special events with swabbing, investigate PEM (Process Equipment Monitoring) outages, and back up the PEM program maintenance. Additionally, this role involves maintaining Food Safety Plans for construction projects and may require working other shifts for large cleanup events or performing sanitation tasks in other areas as needed. The technician must become skilled in Process Excellence Tools and apply these skills for continuous improvement. They will perform process CCP, PC, QCP, and QP checks, follow reaction plans for deviations, identify and understand customer requirements, and assist in assuring proper production operation. Accurate data recording on production reports is also required. Other duties may be assigned by leadership.
