About The Position

Cérélia's newly established Frozen Breakfast Business Unit – US Waffle - is driving an ambitious growth strategy, backed by two manufacturing facilities, Liberty, SC, and Hazelwood, MO. To effectively support the rapid scaling of operations at our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility, US Waffle is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sanitation Technician to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. The Sanitation Technician is Responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing the plant quickly and efficiently during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts. Clean and sanitize processing equipment and processing areas of the plant, to meet quality control and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Sanitation experience preferred.
  • Must be able to follow instructions in English.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Self- Directed
  • Time Management control
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, SSOPs per assignments.
  • Must be able to use Step ladder/Ladder
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner.
  • Ability to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards Management, coworkers.
  • Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the plant including walking, climbing stairs.
  • Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedule and coordinate with planner and/or previous shift regarding scheduling, identifying potential difficulties in timing as required in order to meet production schedule.
  • Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.
  • Prevent cross contamination of products, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facilities.
  • Perform pre- inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
  • Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
  • Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.
  • Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foaming units, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
  • Makes SAFETY a priority, while carrying out his /her daily activities.
  • Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
  • Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Understands and follows all Lock Out Tag Out Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to immediate production superior.
  • Understands cleaning chemicals and their handling procedures.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment always.
