About The Position

The Sanitation Technician, Sr. position performs a variety of semi-skilled, heavy manual tasks related to the collection of refuse on assigned residential or business routes. Position requires regular operation of a city vehicle to perform duties. This is a 2nd Shift position.

Requirements

Ability to follow specific instructions, recognize and apply safe work practices
Ability to walk long distances, lift and carry 100 lbs.
Ability to work assigned shift and may be required to assist in multiple areas
Ability to work outdoors exposed to all weather conditions
Must be able to work holidays
Must also be able to work nights, weekends or other unusual hours as needed in support of special events or emergency response
Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, safety precautions and work hazards involved in operation of equipment
Ability to read street maps and follow instructions
Final candidate subject to job related physical agility test
Ability to obtain a City driver permit is required
Valid Driver's License
