Sanitation Technician I
About The Position
The Sanitation Technician I role involves performing necessary cleaning functions within the warehouse, accurately recording information on SYSCO and external documents, and providing customer service both externally and internally. This position also assists in inventory and purchases of janitorial supplies as requested. The role requires compliance with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality, and legality. The technician must be willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact, understand the importance of reporting hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor, and recognize their integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to work in cold environments.
- Ability to work standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-pace environment.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years general warehouse or related experience is an asset.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Exposure to operation of material handling equipment is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Perform the necessary cleaning function in the warehouse.

- Provide customer service both externally and internally.
- Assist in inventory and purchases of janitorial supplies as requested.
- Comply with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Work safely with minimal environmental impact and understand the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understand that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
