About The Position

Palmer Candy is seeking a 1st shift Sanitation Team Member for its Bluff St facility. This role is crucial for ensuring that products are manufactured in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner, meeting all company quality specifications. The position involves maintaining the cleanliness of facilities, machines, and production equipment.

Requirements

Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Great attention to detail.
Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate sanitation equipment and tools.
Prepare Sanitation Supplies/Chemicals safely and correctly.
Cleaning/Sanitizing (regular wash and allergen wash) of manufacturing areas and packaging machines and equipment.
Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations.
Managing recycling and waste removal.
Light painting/construction projects.
Perform simple maintenance.
Ability to learn how to use pallet jacks or forklifts.
Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
Ability to interact with all functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.
Regular and timely attendance is required for this job.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management.

Responsibilities

Prepare sanitation supplies and chemicals safely and correctly.
Perform regular and allergen washes of manufacturing areas, packaging machines, and equipment.
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage recycling and waste removal.
Undertake light painting and construction projects.
Perform simple maintenance tasks.
Learn to operate pallet jacks or forklifts.
Maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
Interact effectively with all plant functions and individuals at all levels.
Ensure regular and timely attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management.
