The Sanitation Supervisor is a key position within the Facilities Department, focusing on both Sanitation and Food Safety for the entire bakery. This role serves as the Person in Charge (PIC) for their shift, overseeing productivity and ensuring proper shift staffing. Supervisors are the first line of leadership, providing hands-on guidance, mentoring, and supporting the development of the team's cohesion, operational knowledge, and practical skills. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for completing all assigned tasks while maintaining mandatory safety and sanitation standards throughout the building and grounds. This role also assists in establishing and maintaining appropriate safety and sanitation standards. Additionally, the position requires a working knowledge of Bread Alone’s warehouse management/organization. Supervisors actively troubleshoot issues, communicate them to other supervisors and the Manager on Duty (MOD), and hold themselves and their teammates accountable to Bread Alone's safety, culture, and employee conduct standards. They address product, equipment, and interpersonal issues according to policy, seeking manager support when necessary, and are responsible for documenting and communicating issues to their manager. Supervisors take ownership of their shift, embodying the core management principles of work ethic, curiosity, gritty determination, honesty, and humility. They lead by asking for consent, building consensus, and avoiding coercion.
