About The Position

The Van Drunen Family of Companies is growing! This role is responsible for leading all equipment, environmental, and master sanitation activities across the facility, including wet and dry cleaning, custodial oversight, and SSOP execution. The supervisor will also mentor and develop the sanitation team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with Quality and Production departments is key for monitoring environmental swabs, investigating deviations, and implementing corrective actions. The position involves managing key performance indicators (KPIs) for sanitation, controlling chemical usage and inventory, and overseeing sanitary design and change management processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, with direct sanitation leadership experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food microbiology, sanitation methodology, hygienic design, and SOP management.
  • Experience conducting inspections, leading investigations, and driving corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership, training, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Sanitation certification or associate/bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all equipment, environmental, and master sanitation activities across the facility, including wet and dry cleaning, custodial oversight, and SSOP execution.
  • Supervise and develop the sanitation team, ensuring safe practices, compliance with quality standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Quality and Production to monitor environmental swabs, investigate out-of-specification results, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage sanitation KPIs, chemical usage, titrations, PPE inventory, and master cleaning schedules to drive efficiency and cost control.
  • Oversee sanitary design reviews, equipment inspections, and sanitation-related change management initiatives.
