About The Position

The Sanitation Porter will be responsible for keeping working areas in the production department in a clean and orderly condition. This operation is to be performed to keep safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.

Requirements

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
1+ year of experience in janitorial, sanitation, or facility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices
Understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards.
Ability to read and follow safety instructions and cleaning schedules.
Strong attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights.

Responsibilities

Supporting the plant's food safety culture and complying with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
Cleaning and sanitizing production floors in accordance with facility cleaning schedules.
Removing trash and food waste from designated areas; ensuring waste is disposed of properly.
Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors; operating floor-cleaning equipment as required.
Maintaining cleanliness of loading docks and entryways.
Assisting with cleaning production areas as needed.
Following proper chemical handling procedures and maintaining accurate chemical usage logs.
Ensuring compliance with GMPs and all company safety policies.
Reporting maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
Supporting special cleaning projects during plant shutdowns or as directed.
Adapting to shifting priorities and assisting wherever needed to meet company goals.
