About The Position

The Sanitation Operator will be responsible for keeping areas in the production and or administrative areas clean and in orderly condition as assigned by leadership. This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or commercial cleaning.
  • Experience reading and understanding MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets)
  • 6 months experience in a Sanitation role.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short memos.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the plant's food safety culture and complying with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
  • Cleaning/sanitizing assigned areas by following SSOPs.
  • Protecting, covering, or removing boxes, material, or other industrial equipment that may be affected by the sanitation process.
  • Collecting and properly disposing of major dirt and/or product left over on production department floors or pans.
  • Cleaning/prewashing heavy oil, grease, and visible dirt from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
  • Washing walls and ceiling.
  • Transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area.
  • Starting pump to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping or vats.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, disassembling, and assembling equipment according to company procedures.
  • Cleaning processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
  • Scrubbing processing tanks, vats, and kettles.
  • Cleaning floors with mop and/or using an electrical scrubber.
  • Operating an industrial truck to transport materials within the plant.
  • Being trained to use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Completing all required documentation for procedures performed.
  • Performing other cleaning duties of a similar nature as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.
