About The Position

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Sanitation Operator to join our Warehouse facility in Grand Falls, NB. Please note, this position is physically demanding and requires working Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4pm and Saturday 8am to noon (4 paid hours). This role requires performing duties in both warm and cold indoor environments, as well as working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions. The ability to effectively adapt to fluctuating temperatures and weather changes is critical to success in this position. Additionally, the role is situated in a fast-paced, dynamic, and frequently noisy workplace, which necessitates maintaining a high level of alertness and flexibility. Employees must be comfortable with routine physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, and safely lifting items weighing between 35 and 40 pounds. Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts. The ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills would be an asset.
  • Ability to work well with Warehouse supervision and employees.

  • Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.

  • Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.
  • Availability of work during shutdown periods

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping floors and maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Cleaning walls, doors, ceilings, ledges, and windows in accordance with established procedures.
  • Waste disposal, including quarterly cleaning of the waste carts.
  • Assist maintenance or other delegated person with frost pick up and removal inside the building.
  • Sweeping and removal of debris inside and outside building (including vegetation on the roof system)
  • Report any mechanical and/or safety concerns promptly.
  • Comply with all McCain Foods safety standards and requirements.
  • Complete/meet all safety-related tasks and KPI’s.
  • Adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) introduced during employee orientation.
  • Work in cold, dry conditions.
  • Assess tasks for potential risks and take appropriate precautions.
  • Remove spills and debris from racking and storage areas.
  • Maintain 5S and HACCP check sheets accurately and consistently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
