About The Position
The Sanitation Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all sanitation, food safety, and facility hygiene programs. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment through the effective execution of sanitation processes that meet federal, state, customer, and McCain Foods requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of experience in food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, quality control, and food production or processing environments required.
- Prior management or leadership experience required.
- Demonstrates a continuous learning mindset and flexibility to adapt to new equipment, processes, and tasks as needed.
- Embraces technology, effectively utilizes digital tools for data entry, and follows digital production processes and metrics.
- Communicates clearly and independently in English, follows instructions, completes documentation, and collaborates with team members.
- Prioritizes product quality, safety, and accuracy by maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
- Exhibits punctuality, a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and effective interpersonal skills—especially in handling challenging situations and supporting a 24/7 work environment.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in food sciences is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead sanitation, food safety, HACCP, pest control, and compliance programs ensuring audit readiness and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee sanitation operations, shutdown cleanups, facility improvements, and drive continuous improvement using KPIs and performance analysis.
- Develop and coach sanitation personnel, promote safety culture, and ensure departmental competency through training and performance reviews.
- Manage sanitation budgets, chemical inventories, contractor and vendor relationships, and equipment upgrades.
- Communicate sanitation standards, facilitate meetings, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across departments.
