About The Position

The Sanitation Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all sanitation, food safety, and facility hygiene programs. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment through the effective execution of sanitation processes that meet federal, state, customer, and McCain Foods requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, quality control, and food production or processing environments required.
  • Prior management or leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrates a continuous learning mindset and flexibility to adapt to new equipment, processes, and tasks as needed.
  • Embraces technology, effectively utilizes digital tools for data entry, and follows digital production processes and metrics.
  • Communicates clearly and independently in English, follows instructions, completes documentation, and collaborates with team members.
  • Prioritizes product quality, safety, and accuracy by maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Exhibits punctuality, a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and effective interpersonal skills—especially in handling challenging situations and supporting a 24/7 work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in food sciences is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sanitation, food safety, HACCP, pest control, and compliance programs ensuring audit readiness and regulatory adherence.
  • Oversee sanitation operations, shutdown cleanups, facility improvements, and drive continuous improvement using KPIs and performance analysis.
  • Develop and coach sanitation personnel, promote safety culture, and ensure departmental competency through training and performance reviews.
  • Manage sanitation budgets, chemical inventories, contractor and vendor relationships, and equipment upgrades.
  • Communicate sanitation standards, facilitate meetings, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across departments.
