About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Full-time or Part-time Sanitation Lead to oversee sanitation personnel and perform various general labor tasks for an assigned area. This role ensures compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The position is responsible for supporting the review, understanding, and compliance of all programs, policies, and procedures within the Food Safety and Quality Management System at the Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a part-time position, with full-time hours during the pack season (July – November) and when running production off-season, and part-time hours for the remainder of the year.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of sanitation methods, practices, and chemicals used for food manufacturing facility sanitation and ability to effectively train personnel in sanitation and chemical requirements.
  • Knowledge in sanitation and other plant equipment e.g. janitorial and sanitation supplies, tools and equipment, high pressure water hoses, portable chemical spray tanks, portable high pressure system ladder, floor scrubber, and man-lift.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Good mathematics skills and ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to November.

Responsibilities

  • Always Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority in all situations through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Leads, mentors and trains all associates under their supervision.
  • Follows and ensures that the personnel under the direction of the Sanitation Lead conform to all plant GMP requirements and wear all required personal protective gear for the tasks they will perform.
  • Manages the breaks of associates, under his/her supervision, in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining all required SSOP/GMP/Food Safety related documentation and logs daily.
