There's a seat at our table for you… Starting at: $19.00 Work Schedule: Monday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Position Summary: The Sanitation Lead’s primary tasks include cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas in a food processing facility. The team leader is responsible for training other employees on proper handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, preparing sanitizers, preparing chemical concentrations, and handling and storing the chemicals.

Requirements

  • High school / Equivalent
  • Knowledge of sanitation principles, cleaning techniques, and chemical safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in handling high pressure hose.
  • Able to operate power jack and scissor lift.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with others, independently and foster teamwork
  • Must be organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a demanding environment with flexibility to changing priorities.
  • You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industrial / manufacturing facility experience is considered an asset
  • WHMIS training is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitization tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and wiping down surfaces, to remove dirt, debris, and microbial contaminants.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, machinery, production lines, and facility areas using appropriate cleaning chemicals, detergents, and sanitizers.
  • Assist in the disassembly and reassembly of equipment and machinery to facilitate thorough cleaning and sanitization.
  • Ensure that all parts, components, and surfaces are properly cleaned and sanitized before reassembly to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Prepare surfaces for cleaning by removing excess product residues, oils, and other contaminants using designated tools and methods.
  • Apply pre-soak solutions or foam cleaners as needed to loosen stubborn soils and facilitate the cleaning process.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizers safely and according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Dilute concentrated cleaning solutions to the appropriate concentrations for effective cleaning and sanitization.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and machinery, such as pressure washers, scrubbers, and steam cleaners, to efficiently clean and sanitize surfaces.
  • Follow equipment operating instructions, safety precautions, and maintenance procedures to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Inspect equipment, machinery, and facility areas before and after cleaning to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Monitors his team's cleaning effectiveness and identifies areas that require additional attention or corrective action.
  • Ensures the disposal of waste materials, such as trash, debris, and leftover cleaning supplies, in designated containers or disposal areas according to waste management protocols.
  • Assist in recycling efforts by separating recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste.
  • Tracks/monitors accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and chemical usage logs.
  • Report any sanitation issues, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance needs to supervisors or management promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
