About The Position

Our Post Consumer Brands-Eugene Lead Sanitation Tech is responsible for maintaining food safety through the cleaning of company equipment used in food production, packaging, and warehouse/shipping areas within the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) as well as Food Industry Best Practices for people and food safety. Employees will work as part of a team assigned to clean designated production equipment and facilities. The Lead Technician will assign activities to the Sanitation Technicians and ensure the assignments are safely and satisfactorily completed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • One year experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing facility or medical facility.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
  • Computer competent – word, excel, Outlook.
  • Must be transport up to 55 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to reach, grasp, and make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to operate at or above shoulder height for short periods of time throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach throughout shift.
  • Must be able to distinguish between sounds, such as forklift horns, fire alarms, machine signals, etc.
  • Must be able to operate in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to operate in a dusty environment.
  • Must be able to transit the facility for the entirety of the shift (8 hours).
  • Must be able to remain stationary at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Must be ascend/descend stairs/ladders throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce proper safe chemical handling by all employees on the shift.
  • Ensure all raw materials storage, food blending, ovens and packaging machinery, warehouse and perimeter areas are cleaned to a Master Sanitation Schedule and company regulations.
  • Clean assigned equipment per the sanitation standard operating procedures. This requires the disassembly and reassembly of equipment to ensure that all food residue has been removed.
  • Always follow Good Manufacturing and individual personal hygiene practices.
  • Follow all safety procedures and policies and report any unsafe or unsanitary conditions. immediately to supervisor on duty.
  • Maintain daily reports and records as assigned.
  • Complete all other tasks/duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Lead shift team and assign jobs to the Sanitation Technicians.
  • Accurately document and complete assigned Master Sanitation Schedule tasks.
  • Report all completed testing appropriately.
  • Assist in the introduction, training, and evaluation process for all new employees.
  • Ensure GMPs and chemical usage guidelines are being followed by Sanitation Technicians.
  • Report observed performance and behavioral issues to the supervisor.
  • Recognize and report exemplary behavior.
  • Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed.
  • Participate in Safety committee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.
