About The Position

This role is responsible for leading a group of hourly Team Members in cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the plant in accordance with USDA, HACCP, FDA, and FSQS pre-op regulations, policies, and protocols. The position also involves filling in for breaks, assisting with necessary paperwork and administrative duties, and training employees on sanitation procedures, chemical processes, and safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum of (1) year department LEAD experience in a Poultry Processing Facility or related industry. Experience may be from a combination of employers if it totals at least one year.
  • Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be willing and able to use high-pressure hose.
  • Must be willing and able to use chemical solutions.
  • Must be willing and able to climb to scrub high places and bend or squat to scrub low places.
  • Ability to use PIT (if needed).
  • Ability to obtain authorized LOTO (lockout tagout), fall protection, PIT (if needed) training, and confined space.
  • Ability to be exposed to possible warm or cold temperatures, wet, humid, or dusty conditions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Must perform other duties as tasked by administration.
  • Must be safe and observe all of Tyson's policies and procedures.
  • REHIRES ARE SUBJECT TO A 181 DAY WAIT PERIOD, determined from their last date of employment to be considered for an interview.

Responsibilities

  • Filling in for breaks and assisting with necessary paperwork and administrative duties.
  • Training employees on sanitation procedures, chemical processes, and safety.
  • Using high-pressure hoses.
  • Assembling and disassembling lines and equipment as required for proper cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Using chemical solutions.
  • Climbing to scrub high places and bending or squatting to scrub low places.
  • Cleaning equipment, lines, machines, floors, ceilings, lighting fixtures, and taking out trash.
  • Using PIT (if needed).
  • Obtaining authorized LOTO (lockout tagout), fall protection, PIT (if needed) training, and confined space training.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping, including service areas.
  • Following and operating within all Tyson Safety protocols.
  • Completing all other tasks assigned by management.
