This position will report to the Supervisor and is a Full-Time Regular role. The Sanitation Lead will oversee the manual process of sanitizing production plants with a focus on food contact surfaces. The role involves supervising employees to ensure completion of assigned areas, overseeing chemical application and removal, and maintaining routine records. The Lead will also perform all functions of a sanitation employee, set up equipment and crew, and apply cleaning chemicals to appropriate surfaces and equipment. The position may require rotation to different plant areas based on business needs. The Lead is responsible for maintaining daily log sheets, auditing team lead logs, and operating a forklift for chemical transportation and trash disposal. They will engage in critical or special situations, discern if additional resources are needed, and provide direct leadership and direction to ensure accurate communication and follow-up. The role ensures corrective and preventative actions and continuous improvement processes are utilized and verified. The Sanitation Lead will assist department supervisors with go/no-go decisions regarding chemical, cleaning, and design impacts on production, maintenance, quality, and sanitation. They will undertake special projects assigned by the Sr. Sanitation Manager, provide technical expertise for the environmental monitoring program, and communicate/escalate safety, food safety/quality, or vendor issues. People and skill development through training and coaching are also key aspects of this role, along with other assigned duties to support business needs.
