The Sanitation Lead directs daily cleaning operations, manages sanitation crews, and ensures compliance with food safety laws to prevent contamination. This role is responsible for enforcing and ensuring compliance with established food safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies and procedures. The Sanitation Lead will inspect manufacturing equipment to ensure compliance with established sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards, and manage and oversee cleaning and sanitation operations in the facility to ensure proper execution of sanitation activities. They will maintain the master sanitation schedule, train sanitation workers on an ongoing basis, and document all training processes and procedures properly. Additionally, the Sanitation Lead will monitor the mixing and use of chemicals to prevent misuse and hazards, coordinate and execute cleaning with the sanitation and maintenance teams, and keep detailed records of all sanitation-related activities and issues. Comprehensive evaluations of sanitation processes and practices will be conducted to identify opportunities for improvement, with recommendations provided to the Quality Supervisor. The role also involves maintaining audit readiness to ensure sanitation practices meet established SQF and customer requirements.
