About The Position

The Ippolito Group of Companies is seeking a Sanitation Lead Hand to provide effective leadership for the safe and efficient operation of sanitation and production activities in the absence of the Sanitation / Production Supervisor. Requirements

  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience (required)
  • 2–3 years of sanitation experience (required)
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a cold, wet, and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Willingness to perform physical work, including heavy lifting, standing, and climbing

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in production/packaging or the food industry (asset)
  • Knowledge of GMPs, SQF, and HACCP (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sanitation Supervisor with overseeing daily sanitation functions while supporting production needs as required
  • Lead and motivate staff, ensuring safe practices and food safety procedures are followed
  • Maintain and monitor task schedules, employee hours, and the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Direct and help train staff in sanitation, pest-control, and production procedures
  • Inspect cleanliness of surfaces with proper swabs and take corrective action when needed
  • Inspect equipment before/after sanitation and production to ensure it is in proper working condition
  • Collaborate closely with Production to prevent issues that could impact product quality or safety
  • Manage supplies, chemicals, and equipment required for sanitation tasks
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn and all health & safety guidelines are followed
  • Keep accurate records of sanitation activities and inspections
  • Oversee cleanliness of the entire plant, including production, distribution, trucking, and waste areas
  • Perform additional duties as required, including quality control checks and forklift use
