About The Position

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for directing the shift team of colleagues through a work schedule that is based on production runs and the master cleaning schedule set for the plant. The Sanitation Lead is the leader of the changeover team and works towards achieving the goals set for each changeover set expectations. This leader will promote a safe work environment. Responsibilities will also include pre-sanitation prep work to have areas covered for sanitation night activities. This role will require a working schedule on D crew 6pm to 6am.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Responsibilities

  • Direct a team’s workflow/set priorities.
  • Train, certify and document on shift clean up personnel in proper cleaning practices per the SSOP’s.
  • Train back-ups in positions as needed.
  • Coordinate daily activities of the team
  • Ensure shift to shift communication to the on-coming Sanitation Lead.
  • Generate requisition of chemicals necessary for the sanitation process.
  • Ensure safety policies and sanitation regulations are being followed.
  • Assist team with troubleshooting and conflict resolution.
  • Implement new ideas to improve overall sanitation/changeover process.
  • Coordinate the need for equipment repair with maintenance by use of Work Requests.
  • Direct team with changeover efforts.
  • Coordinate daily activities of the team with focus on the master cleaning schedule.
  • Communicate issues and concerns, daily, with Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Keep cleaning supplies and PPE supplied and order when needed.
  • Coordinate the winter snow removal team, daily, during the winter months.
  • Coordinate efforts for pre-sanitation, (chemicals/equipment).
  • Ensure confidential information with sanitation supervisor is upheld.
  • Follow proper GMP and safety guidelines.
  • Assist team in maintaining work areas in a safe and clean environment.
  • Work with Sanitation Supervisor to coordinate workflow during down time.
  • Assist Sanitation Supervisor with conflict resolution and morale building.
