About The Position

Kraft Heinz Claussen Pickles is seeking a Sanitation Laborer to ensure a quality product is produced and to contribute to continuous improvement. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the production area. The position is on the 3rd shift, from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am, with potential for daily and occasional weekend overtime. Initially, the role is part-time for the first 90 days, with the possibility of moving to full-time based on performance. Full-time employees receive free Health/Dental/Vision benefits. The plant is a union facility employing approximately 245 people across three shifts and is the sole manufacturing location for Claussen brand pickles.

Requirements

  • High school or GED diploma
  • Reads and writes either Spanish or English to follow written procedures and fill out pre-operational forms.
  • Measure chemical concentrations and records the results.

Responsibilities

  • Remove or cover edible products.
  • Remove or cover packaging materials.
  • Position drain baskets/screens and clean drains.
  • Pick up miscellaneous trash.
  • Wipe and cover equipment not adaptable to wet cleaning.
  • Turn off power on equipment to be dismantled - Lockout/block out procedures.
  • Dismantle equipment.
  • Apply detergent, brush and scour, rinse, inspect for defects, and sanitize, final rinse, dry.
  • Perform miscellaneous cleaning tasks (including sweeping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, etc.) throughout the entire facility.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks on the plant grounds including sweeping, picking up garbage, watering, and shoveling snow (seasonal).
  • Perform special projects which include non-routine cleaning and painting.
  • Responsible for notifying the Sanitation Supervisor of any mechanical problems.
  • Responsible for proper placement of all sanitation utensils after using.
  • Must try to recycle as much recyclable waste as possible.
  • Operates hand trucks to move materials.
  • Pushes waste carts and disposing of it properly.
  • Works safely and promotes safe working conditions.
  • Responsible for minor production set-up such as filling glue pots, assembling equipment, placing equipment and items in the proper place.
  • May also perform additional miscellaneous duties as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
