About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas and, assembling and disassembling equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The work involves dry pickup, breaking down and setting up equipment, using high-pressure hoses to rinse areas and floors, and using various chemicals to foam and scrub floors. The role requires visually checking areas for cleanliness, working closely with Quality Assurance and USDA, and upholding the principles of SQF 2000. The work schedule will vary depending on production, and various other tasks may be assigned by lead personnel, supervisors, or superintendents.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 8 hours
  • Ability to become certified in Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out program
  • Must be willing and able to pinch/grip product/equipment
  • Familiar with safe operation and use of high-pressure hoses and sanitation chemicals
  • Must be willing and able to perform tasks for periods of 8 hours on a concrete floor, including bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must have 6 months of continuous employment in the last 18 months
  • Newbern does not accept rehires

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months of relevant machine operator, warehouse, agriculture or production experience
