About The Position

The Sanitation I employee is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, reassembling, and test-running all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift startup. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe and high-quality food product is produced. The employee must take responsibility for their work area and report any food safety or quality issues immediately to their supervisor, manager, or the QA department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • 1 to 3 months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one or small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Able to perform mathematic operations using any or all units of weight measurement, volume, distance, and American money.
  • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

Nice To Haves

  • Receive the SSOP certification.
  • Qualified to use a scissor lift (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to use sanitation chemicals (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to operate the Triangle system (clean out, set up and test run-training provided by OWS).

Responsibilities

  • Disassembly of the Triangle system.
  • Cleaning of the Triangle scale system.
  • Reassembly of the Triangle system.
  • Cleaning of the “steep” conveyor.
  • Cleaning of the Urschel slicer.
  • Cleaning of the “Z” conveyor.
  • Other duties as assigned (to be done on nights when the Triangle system does not have to be cleaned).
  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Report all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate immediate action.
