About The Position
Charlie's Produce is a privately owned wholesale produce company and the largest privately owned produce wholesaler on the West Coast. This role is responsible for warehouse cleanup, maintaining a clean and orderly condition through various methods, performing both light and heavy cleaning tasks such as sweeping, waste collection and removal, floor cleaning, and various surface cleaning duties in common areas like locker rooms, restrooms, and break rooms. Job tasks take place in both warehouse coolers and outside elements using heavy equipment. This role also assists the receiving department as needed and performs other assigned tasks. New hires will be trained on equipment including electric pallet jacks and forklifts. The position requires the ability to give direction to the group.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to use a pressure washer
- Ability to work in tall heights while in a scissor lift
- Ability to read/write/speak English
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (33 to 36 degrees F)
- Ability to work safely and professionally in a fast paced environment with frequent heavy equipment and pedestrian traffic
Nice To Haves
- 1-year previous janitorial experience preferred
- Pallet Jack/Forklift experience a plus
Responsibilities
- General housekeeping including but not limited to sweeping floors, cleaning up debris around the warehouse.
- Cleaning up standing water, breaking down boxes and recycle.
- Scheduled cleaning of freezer, restrooms and lunchroom.
- Using a forklift to empty garbage and check for pest control issues.
- Responsible for the completion of the daily SQF inspection log.
- Must be able to work independently and communicate issues.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
