About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area according to established guidelines. The Sanitation Aide will use and maintain dishwashing equipment, wash dishes, glasses, pots, and pans. They will also be responsible for general kitchen cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing trash cans. Additionally, the position requires adherence to safety protocols and may involve assisting with plating for banquet events.

Requirements

  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset

Responsibilities

  • Use established guidelines to correctly utilize and maintain dish machine.
  • Wash glasses and dishes in standard dish rack.
  • Wash pots and pans only in the pot washer's area.
  • Ensure all cleaning required to keep the kitchen neat and clean at all times, including sweeping up broken glass/dishes and mopping up any spills.
  • Empty full and heavy trash cans, spray and sanitize them after each use, and place new trash bags in the container after each cleaning.
  • Follow all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) protocols, as well as Safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties in other areas of the Kitchen as assigned, including assisting with plating banquet events when needed.
