Under the supervision of the Milk Operations Branch Manager, performs responsible administrative and managerial duties within the Milk Operations Branch. Oversees, plans, organizes, and coordinates Grade “A” Milk Operation program activities. Helps supervise and coordinate plan review of new milk processing or modifications to existing facilities for the Milk & Dairy Program. Develops educational and training materials for the milk program. Conducts trainings for the milk and dairy program in providing industry and internal milk inspection trainings. Conducts sanitation ratings of Interstate Milk Shippers Grade “A” Milk Facilities, including producer dairy bulk tank units (BTU), milk transfer stations, milk processing, and container manufacturing plants. Conducts Sampling Surveillance activities statewide to ensure Program compliance with the latest edition of Procedures Governing the Cooperative State-PHS/FDA Program of the NCIMS (Procedures). Evaluates state laws and local ordinances pertaining to milk and dairy and develops enforcement procedures for compliance. Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager to meet the needs of the Milk Operations Branch. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
