About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of experience. As a leading global woven textile mill, we specialize in designing and manufacturing residential and contract-grade fabrics for a diverse clientele including furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. This role involves operating looms to produce fabric samples according to specific work instructions and standards.

Requirements

Experience in doffing, pattern changing, and weaving.
Minor fixing ability.
Good physical condition for heavy lifting.
Ability to make minor corrections on JC4 (such as selvage changes).
Knowledge of networking and use of electronics on Thema looms.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Knowledge of scanning tickets for SAP.

Responsibilities

Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs to identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Perform all duties in a safe manner, adhering to company guidelines.
Maintain attendance practices to meet established company goals.
Maintain work habits that meet the demands and stresses of the job.
Meet deadlines and production quotas.
Maintain good work relationships with co-workers.
Work overtime as needed to accomplish tasks.
Obtain materials needed to run the sample.
Stop the best loom for running the sample from production, change pattern and picks, and make necessary adjustments.
Weave samples, ensuring patterns run correctly and checking picks.
Doff samples and deliver them as requested.
Bring any fabric the weaver is unsure of to the Sample Supervisor.
Set up the loom as it was previously after samples are completed.
Report sample downtime on production looms for compensation to the production weaver.
Turn in a daily yardage report to the Sample Weaving Supervisor.
Perform other duties as needed or required by the supervisor.
