About The Position

TechLaw Consultants is seeking a Sample Management Laboratory Support Scientist with up to three years of experience to provide sample management and laboratory support near the Denver Federal Center laboratory. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support work for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and other clients, focusing on environmental science, laboratory operations, and NELAP accreditation compliance.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field
Legal U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment; flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Up to three years of experience providing sample management and laboratory support

Responsibilities

Perform sample management duties for environmental samples, including logging into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), preservation verification, and managing sample storage areas and coolers.
Perform calibration checks of pipettes, balances, weights, and thermometers.
Perform waste management duties and assess the need for disposal of analyzed and unused samples.
Conduct chemical and property inventories on a regularly scheduled basis.
Manage sample shipping containers and coolers.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory work area that adheres to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
