About The Position

This is a Full-time, Monday-Friday, 1st shift position with potential for overtime, located in Derry, NH. It is described as a great entry-level position in an environmental laboratory. The role involves logging and tracking the receipt and shipment of samples, verifying sample receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), preparing bottle kits for clients, and ensuring accurate documentation. The technician will determine sample priority and testing procedures, label and store samples, and handle incoming and outgoing shipments in compliance with DOT regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, stocking inventory, and interacting professionally with clients. Willingness to be cross-trained and a positive attitude are important.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience preferred
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
  • Valid state issued driver's license to operate company vehicles
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, twist for the duration of the shift.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or Biology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples into and out of the laboratory.
  • Verifies receipt of samples against Chain of Custody (COC).
  • Assists in preparing bottle kits for delivery to clients.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of sample log in, labeling, and routing.
  • Determines the priority level and appropriate testing procedures of samples according to Chain of Custody.
  • Labels and stores samples in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Verifies that COCs are accurate, complete, and correct and seeks resolution for those that are not.
  • Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes.
  • Distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
  • Prepares bottle kits daily to be shipped to clients to collect samples and return for analysis in accordance with established procedures including EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Cleans and organizes the department daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and smoother flow of daily operations.
  • Maintains and promotes safety and conducts all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Stocks and supplies inventory daily and assists with inventory of supplies to maintain proper quantity of materials to perform tasks appropriately.
  • Ships empty coolers back to clients and other Eurofins Laboratories.
  • Logs all outgoing coolers in order to maintain a detailed inventory of all coolers.
  • Conducts all client interaction in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Willingness to be cross trained in multiple departments.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
