About The Position

ATI is seeking a Sample and Conditioning Operator at its Bakers facility in Monroe, North Carolina. The position is responsible for sampling and conditioning titanium material (ingots) to meet customer expectations using a variety of machinery. A successful candidate demonstrates attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• One year of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders from the shipping and melt departments.
• Operate swing grinders, hand grinders, a gas cutting torch, a manual bander, and various fork trucks.
• Use a drill press to sample titanium alloys.
• Detect and report defective materials or improper operations.
• Transfer ingots onto a roller to begin the chamfering process, beveling the edge of each piece.
• Visually inspect finished material before sending it to the next department.
• Stamp materials with the proper labels.
• Maintain logs and records.
• Follow and implement all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
