Sam's Loose Freight Handler (Shift 2)
About The Position
The Sam's Loose Freight Handler maintains freight inventory by inspecting freight, verifying that label information matches freight contents or reports, and placing labels in the appropriate area. The role processes store orders by pulling merchandise using computer-generated labels, stacking merchandise onto pallets, and transporting it manually with a pallet jack or using power equipment. The handler also inspects freight for damage and misplacement, including stray items, and maintains records, logs, and forms. The position emphasizes teamwork, respectful and inclusive conduct, integrity, customer service, continuous improvement, and learning. Various schedules may be available; schedule details are discussed during the interview process. The hourly wage range is $23.60–$27.10, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specified circumstances. The role is located at 7400 Hentges Way, Shakopee, Minnesota.
Responsibilities
- Inspect freight and verify label information, such as vendor stock number and description, against freight contents or reports.
- Place labels in the appropriate area on freight.
- Pull merchandise for store orders using computer-generated labels.
- Stack merchandise onto pallets and transport it manually using a pallet jack or with power equipment.
- Inspect freight for damage and misplacement, including stray items.
- Maintain records, logs, and forms.
- Work collaboratively, communicate positively, and help develop and mentor others.
- Maintain standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance.
