Salesforce Technical Architect

Kinaxis Inc.
2dHybrid

About The Position

As a Technical Architect, you will be the technical authority and long‑term steward of the Salesforce platform at Kinaxis. You will own the detailed technical design of solutions, guide developers on engineering best practices, and ensure our Salesforce ecosystem is built for reliability, scalability, and maintainability. You will partner closely with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, developers, security, and business teams to ensure technical designs support business value while aligning with enterprise integration and architecture standards. This is a hands‑on, engineering‑forward architecture role. You will shape how Salesforce evolves at Kinaxis: defining patterns, reducing technical debt, modernizing integrations, and driving platform maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7+ years building and designing solutions on enterprise platforms, including at least 2–3 years architecting Salesforce or similarly complex systems.
  • Proven experience as a senior developer or technical lead on Salesforce, building scalable, secure, and performant solutions.
  • Expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, platform events, flows, automation, identity (OAuth/SAML), and integration mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of API‑first design, event‑driven architecture, error handling, and integration patterns.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and environment strategy.
  • Strong grasp of non‑functional design: performance modeling, limits management, data modeling, and secure configuration.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or progress toward the Architect track.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed technical solution designs, including data models, integration specifications, automation patterns, and security models.
  • Translate high‑level solution architecture into implementable technical blueprints.
  • Own and maintain Salesforce reference architectures, reusable patterns, and guardrails.
  • Conduct code and design reviews; ensure alignment with standards, integration patterns, and security policies.
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex issues across data, integrations, and platform components.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using API‑first principles.
  • Define integration contracts, data transformation rules, error handling strategies, and performance requirements.
  • Ensure governance of master data and consistent platform-to-platform interactions.
  • Participate in Architectural Review Board (ARB) processes for platform‑related decisions; automating governance wherever possible.
  • Partner with Solution Architects to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business needs.
  • Communicate risks, constraints, and trade‑offs clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
