This role serves as a lead technical resource for the Salesforce platform, responsible for solution architecture, hands-on development, configuration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement. The position involves designing and developing scalable Salesforce solutions, partnering with stakeholders to understand business needs, and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and user experience. It also includes architecting integrations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, evaluating AI capabilities, and managing platform components. The role supports deployment, contributes to the technical roadmap, collaborates with QA teams, researches platform updates, creates documentation, analyzes system issues, and mentors team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant progressive experience in Salesforce roles with demonstrated responsibility for both solution architecture and hands-on development in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform with the proven ability to build custom workflows, create new objects and fields, formula fields, approval processes, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality with emphasis on customer service, including cases and relationship management.
  • Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to interact and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Must be able to understand business processes and promptly determine business needs.
  • Ability to partner with technical teams and understand technical details of software designs.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Highly skilled in Salesforce, Sales Cloud Enterprise Administration, reporting and dashboards.
  • May be required to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Agile delivery models is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Health Cloud is a significant plus.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer, Application Architect, System Architect, or similar credentials are preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a lead technical resource for the Salesforce platform, responsible for solution architecture, hands-on development, configuration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Designs and develops scalable Salesforce solutions using platform configuration and custom development capabilities, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, custom objects, validation rules, automation, and integrations.
  • Partners with Product Owners, business leaders, organizational units, vendors, and subject matter experts to understand business needs, define technical requirements, and translate user stories into supportable solutions.
  • Provides solution design recommendations that improve efficiency, user experience, platform utilization, scalability, maintainability, and alignment with Colorado Access strategy.
  • Architects, builds, and supports integrations between Salesforce and internal or third-party applications, including secure data exchange, interface monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Owns and governs Salesforce architecture standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, data strategy, and integration frameworks.
  • Designs integration architectures using API-led and event-driven patterns, leveraging middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services) to enable scalable and secure data exchange.
  • Ensure solutions are designed in compliance with healthcare and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), including data protection, encryption, auditability, and secure access controls.
  • Evaluates and implements AI-driven capabilities in alignment with organizational AI governance and responsible use guidelines.
  • Manages and enhances security design, data access, profiles, permission sets, page layouts, fields, workflows, reports, dashboards, and other platform components as needed to support business operations.
  • Supports deployment of Salesforce capabilities to new teams or business areas using sound architecture principles, best practices, and organizational standards.
  • Contributes to technical roadmap execution, estimation, environment planning, release readiness, and post-deployment stabilization activities.
  • Collaborates with QA/TCoE and business teams to coordinate testing, support defect triage, validate outcomes, and promote high-quality delivery.
  • Research Salesforce platform updates and emerging best practices to protect system stability, inform recommendations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Creates and maintains architecture documentation, technical standards, process documentation, and support materials for users and technical teams.
  • Analyzes the impact of system problems, enhancements, and design changes; troubleshoots issues; and implements sustainable solutions in collaboration with internal partners and vendors.
  • Mentors team members in Salesforce technical skills, architecture thinking, development best practices, and platform governance.
