Salesforce Solution Engineer (Developer)

GuidehouseSan Antonio, TX
$106,000 - $176,000Onsite

About The Position

This role involves writing clean, bulkified Apex triggers, building Lightning Web Components and Experience Cloud pages, and designing and building integrations. The position requires participation in Agile ceremonies, partnering with various teams, and supporting source-driven development and release management. Additionally, the role involves producing technical documentation for federal delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of FIVE (5) years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including at least two full implementation delivered to production.
  • Demonstrated Apex proficiency: trigger frameworks, asynchronous processing, SOQL/SOSL optimization, bulkification, exception handling, and governor limit management.
  • Lightning Web Component development with solid modern JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+, promises, async/await, DOM); Aura exposure is a plus for legacy support.
  • Working command of the Salesforce data and security model: objects and relationships, record types, profiles and permission sets, org-wide defaults, sharing rules and apex sharing, and field-level security.
  • Declarative automation depth; Flow in its current forms and the judgment to choose configuration over code and defend that choice.
  • Integration experience with REST/JSON APIs, OAuth 2.0 and JWT bearer flows, and Named Credentials.
  • Source-driven development practice: Salesforce DX, Git, pull-request-based code review, and a CI/CD toolchain (Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
  • Agile delivery experience using Jira or a comparable tool.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal security clearance.
  • Ability to write clearly and explain technical decisions to non-technical government stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • OmniStudio experience: OmniScript, FlexCards, Integration Procedures, and DataRaptors, particularly guided intake and case-worker experiences built on PSS.
  • Active security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI), active and current clearance is strongly preferred and will accelerate onboarding.
  • Prior federal or public sector Salesforce delivery, including work in Government Cloud or Government Cloud Plus.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, bulkified Apex triggers with a handler framework, service and selector layers, Queueable/Batch/Schedulable, Platform Events with governor limits accounted for in design, not discovered in UAT.
  • Build Lightning Web Components with modern JavaScript, and Experience Cloud pages and portals for constituent, supplier, and partner audiences.
  • Design and build integrations: REST/SOAP callouts, Named Credentials and External Credentials, External Services, Platform Events, and MuleSoft or agency ESB patterns, including authentication, retry, and error-handling design.
  • Write meaningful Apex unit tests and Jest tests for LWC, assertions that verify behavior, not coverage padding to clear the 75% floor.
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, estimation, sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives with government product owners in the room.
  • Partner with solution architects, business analysts, testers, and release engineers; translate user stories into technical design and flag ambiguity before the sprint, not during it.
  • Support source-driven development and release management: Salesforce DX, Git branching and pull requests, code review, automated deployment pipelines, and sandbox/data seeding strategy across a multi-environment path to production.
  • Produce the technical documentation federal delivery requires, design specs, interface control documentation, configuration workbooks, and deployment runbooks.
