About The Position

Salesforce Solution Architect in GAC Savannah. This role involves defining and implementing IT application solutions within existing enterprise architectural standards to meet business requirements while achieving an acceptable cost of ownership. The architect will assist in the development and deployment of systems, methodologies, standards, and processes that support application development and support functions. The position requires creating application architectures and designs, configuring complex enterprise applications, documenting future state architectures, and identifying gaps between current and future states. The architect will make IT solution recommendations with significant business impact, develop high-level views of current and proposed IT architectures, and serve as a technical expert in specific applications. Ensuring solution designs meet scalability, performance, and quality requirements according to service level agreements is crucial. The role also includes conducting research in application technologies, participating in the assessment and resolution of software defects, and collaborating with various teams to ensure quality implementation. Project management assistance, design reviews, and contributing to technology and business roadmaps are also key responsibilities. Technical evaluations, cost/benefit analysis, and disaster recovery strategy development are part of the role, along with understanding IS security measures and standards. Additional duties include serving as a liaison with suppliers, evaluating purchased software packages, supporting management in recruitment and career development, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Info Tech, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 10 years of experience as an IT professional with broad experience across multiple IT disciplines.
  • Salesforce clouds, such as Sales, Revenue (CPQ), Service, and Marketing Cloud.
  • Enterprise Integration Design: Design secure, scalable connections between Salesforce and external ERPs, CRMs, or data warehouses using middleware like MuleSoft.
  • Development Governance: Establishing strict guardrails for when to deploy low-code automation (Flow) versus custom code (Apex) to minimize total cost of ownership.
  • Platform Limit & Guardrail Management: Architect solutions that explicitly avoid multi-tenant cloud constraints, such as API limits, CPU timeouts, and concurrent request caps.
  • Business-to-Technical Translation: Convert complex, ambiguous enterprise business capabilities into scalable, structured Salesforce platform blueprints.
  • High-Level Integration Topology: Define cross-system data movement patterns and middleware orchestration without getting bogged down in individual code deployment.
  • Strategic Technical Debt Management: Assess legacy configurations to deliberately balance rapid business feature delivery against long-term platform health.
  • Performance-Safe Security Architecture: Configure complex sharing rules, territory management, and role hierarchies engineered to prevent database locking errors during high-volume record updates
  • Enterprise Data Governance: Structure master data management (MDM) strategies, system-of-record rules, and cross-platform data mapping frameworks.
  • Agile Release Train Alignments: Coordinate with product owners and development streams to ensure release schedules support broader business milestones.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills; must be capable of explaining complex procedures in writing or verbally.
  • Must be able to write proposals and make presentations to internal customers and professional peers.
  • Works closely with upper management.
  • Provides tech direction for app development teams.
  • A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) exposure preferred.
  • Solid understanding of system lifecycle methodologies.
  • Proficiency with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) desired.
  • Masters degree may be used to offset one year of experience; PhD may offset two years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Creates application architectures and designs and configures complex enterprise applications based on the business requirements.
  • Documents the desired future state of application architecture, and documents the gaps between current and future states.
  • Define transition plans to close the gaps.
  • Makes IT solution recommendations that have an important impact on segments of the business.
  • Develops high-level view of current and proposed IT architectures.
  • Serves as technical expert in one or more applications within a portfolio.
  • Assures that solution designs meet requirements for scalability, performance and quality in accordance with negotiated service level agreements.
  • Under minimal direction, plans and conducts research in application technologies in support of business objectives.
  • Participates in the assessment and resolution of software defects discovered during the quality assurance process.
  • Works with software designers, QA engineers, technical writers, configuration management and infrastructure, as needed, to ensure quality and the successful implementation of new applications or features.
  • Assists project management with the development of work breakdown structures and project plans required. to implement applications.
  • Participates in design reviews for implementation projects.
  • Assists IT and Business groups in the evolution of technology and business roadmaps.
  • Conducts technical evaluations and performs cost/benefit analysis.
  • Assists in the development of the disaster recovery strategy.
  • Understands IS Security measures and current standards, practices and technology.
  • Serves as liaison with suppliers.
  • Assists with evaluation and recommendations regarding purchased software packages, and supporting services.
  • Supports management in recruiting, hiring and career development.
  • Using knowledge of technology and existing systems, mentors junior staff to design, build and maintain application systems.
