About The Position

The Training Agent is accountable for achieving sales and marketing objectives within their assigned territory. This role involves providing high-quality service to customers, maintaining positive working relationships with the home office and counties, and becoming proficient in various policy lines including farm, homeowner, auto, life insurance, and banking products. The Training Agent is also responsible for prospecting and acquiring new customers and memberships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Georgia Property/Casualty and Life/Health insurance licenses.
  • Must provide copies of certificates showing passing of required examinations.
  • Must be pursuing licensing through the Georgia Department of Insurance.
  • Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Computer skills and abilities are necessary.
  • Development of skills and knowledge of product lines and offered services.

  • Some college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Selling various types of policies (farm, crop, automobile, homeowners, commercial, life, medical, and dental insurance) to individual customers and businesses on behalf of Georgia Farm Bureau and its Brokerage partners.
  • Contacting customers to explain policies, analyze insurance programs, suggest additions or changes, or update beneficiaries.
  • Seeking new customers and developing membership by networking within the county.
  • Ensuring policy requirements, documentation, and support services are completed.
  • Inspecting or re-inspecting properties to assess condition, construction, age, insurance-to-value, and other risk characteristics, and taking corrective actions.
  • Contributing to local advertising, promotion, and brand awareness for GFB and GFBMIC, including active community involvement.
  • Actively participating in continuous professional skill development.
  • Maintaining positive and effective working relationships between the county office and home office.
  • Achieving sales, loss ratio, and retention results in line with agency and agent objectives.
  • Delivering essential member services, such as insurance reviews, to the membership within the county.
  • Performing at production levels outlined in corporate, district, agency business plans, and validation agreements.
