About The Position

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is seeking a Sales Trainee. This position offers excellent benefits, competitive wages, and potential for growth. The role will cover Rocky Mount, Wilson, and surrounding areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
State ABC license.
Maintain valid driver's license.
Continuous auto insurance coverage in accordance with company limit requirements.
Knowledge of Order processing systems.

Responsibilities

Travel through designated territories daily to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product.
Cover Sales Representative routes as needed.
Quote prices and payment terms for orders obtained.
Confer with District Manager to resolve customer problems.
Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
Identify and respond to customers' needs.
Merchandise product to customer shelves per company standards, customer requirements, and customer and/or company direction.
Assist with tracking reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
Assist in sales plans and maintain accounts according to company standards.
Assist in tracking progress of goals on a weekly basis.
Participate in supplier work-withs.
Continually maintain training and product knowledge.
Deliver emergency orders when needed.
Attend trade shows.
Conduct business according to local and state laws.
Assist with store re-sets.
Distribute point-of-sale materials for use in the market, and build displays.
Maintain shelf displays.
Ability and willingness to discuss, research, select or input ALL products that may be ordered by our customers.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
