About The Position

The Sales Tax Accounting Clerk supports the day-to-day operations of Border States’ Sales Tax Department by providing sales tax and accounting functions. This part-time position is located in Fargo, North Dakota. Border States is a 100% employee-owned electrical supply distributor with approximately 130 locations in 31 states. Requirements

• Working knowledge of Windows PCs, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint), the Internet, and email.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and reading skills.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize.
• Excellent customer service skills, including being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.

Nice To Haves

• A two-year degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior knowledge of general accounting duties.

Responsibilities

• Adjust sales tax on customer invoices.
• Evaluate and enter customer sales tax exemption certificates.
• Track, assign, and categorize requests received in the Sales Tax Inbox.
• Process and initialize setup for new customer accounts.
• Assist with requests for BSI exemption certificates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.
