About The Position

The Sales Support Team Lead will coach, train, and manage a team of Mortgage support staff, which may include Mortgage Loan Originator Assistants and Loan Support Specialists. This role is responsible for providing sales and marketing support to assigned Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) by performing lending support functions in accordance with Truist policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience
• 3+ years mortgage industry experience with increasing responsibilities
• Typically manages a team of 4+ direct reports
• Handles complex job duties/responsibilities and special projects independently
• May be responsible for training entry-level employees
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant computer applications
• Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days of employment in this role including new or transfer of registration and acceptable NMLS background check

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and meeting other Human Resources requirements for direct reports, including setting goals and objectives, evaluating performance and development, and time approvals.
• Manage daily activities and workflow of Mortgage LOA and Loan Support Specialists and other direct reports to ensure effective and efficient coverage of loan file set up needs.
• Monitor and evaluate pipelines from application to ensure compliance and timely action by MLOs, ensuring internal service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
• Ensure sales file submission quality and timeliness standards are met.
• Assist Mortgage Loan Fulfillment with client, attorney, or appraiser document follow-up as determined through quality control or post-closing review.
• Support direct reports by maintaining a complete and thorough knowledge of Mortgage Strategies, Policies and Procedures, as well as secondary market investor's guidelines utilized by Truist.
• Manage and execute initiatives, strategies, and directives that support the Division.
• Fulfill Loan Support Specialist duties and act as an individual contributor/or coach based on span of control and need.
