About The Position

Provides sales and underwriting administrative support to internal sales staff, brokers, and other internal and external areas, for new accounts in the small group (1-50 sized) market segment. Processes prescreen in conjunction with medical underwriting and prepare quotes for small group prospects. Reviews sold groups files for completeness and compliance with underwriting regulations and process installation guidelines, prepares account worksheets, and follows group to completion. Creates new group account profiles and opportunity records and maintains and updates changes to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system records. Responds to small group broker support calls and emails on general underwriting inquiries, status, and other administrative inquiries Processes transfer paperwork for existing groups transferring between channels at renewal, utilizing similar process to new sold group installation Stays current on product and process changes, industry trends and governmental regulatory changes. Participates in staff meetings and webinars. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing/communications or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • 3 years sales support and/or customer service experience, preferably in health insurance and/or working with insurance brokers.
  • Familiarity with insurance products and/or sales and service operations processes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills.
  • Basic proficiency with CRM systems.
