Sales Specialist

Jaybird Senior LivingDes Moines, IA
Hybrid

About The Position

The Sales Specialist is a results-driven professional responsible for driving new resident move-ins and increasing occupancy. This role steps into communities—during transitions, vacancies, or periods of under performance—to execute sales strategies with urgency and independence. Success is measured by move-ins, not activity. We provide seniors with the exceptional care they deserve, in an extraordinary living environment. Our communities offer seniors the freedom to enjoy each day as they see fit, with the right level of care and support; helping them approach life with renewed confidence and purpose. Since 2004, we’ve created a culture where our staff can innovate and grow — while our residents thrive and their families enjoy peace of mind.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in senior living sales, marketing, or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to build trust quickly with prospects and internal teams.
  • Mastery of CRM databases, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and mobile operating systems.
  • High emotional maturity, resilience, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license required for extensive travel between communities.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize converting inquiries into move-ins. Identify pipeline barriers, conduct discovery-based tours, and close sales with persistence and professionalism.
  • Maintain high-volume sales outreach (calls, follow-ups, tours) while remaining insulated from workplace "noise" or internal distractions.
  • Utilize the Jaybird Sales Academy playbook and behaviors of success to manage the CRM and database with high accuracy.
  • Conduct weekly outreach and networking to meet professional referral and event targets.
  • Ensure first impressions are elite by auditing model apartments and community tour paths; address barriers to "tour-readiness" immediately.
  • Partner with regional leadership and the marketing department to develop and execute community-specific action plans.
  • Manage the entire sales life cycle with limited oversight, providing weekly recaps and proactive updates to regional teams.

  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunities
  • Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with match
  • Paid time off and flexible hours
  • Employee assistance program and on-demand pay
  • Career growth in a fast-growing company
