About The Position

Goodwill of North Georgia is hiring a Sales & Service team member to examine and grade donated goods for sale in its retail stores. The role processes goods quickly to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. It also supports a guest-friendly retail experience through customer service, merchandising, sales, and accurate point-of-sale transactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
• Basic math skills.
• Must start employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
• Must be able to work in heat, cold, and dust.
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Must be at least 18 years old to be certified and licensed to operate a forklift; individuals aged 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, deliver a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
• Maintain a professional, patient, people-first attitude with guests.
• Move products to the retail salesfloor efficiently and carefully.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
• Recommend or upsell merchandise and encourage guests to round up during transactions.
• Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
• Identify and promptly resolve problems or seek management support.
• Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and guests.
• Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
• Follow training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
• Keep the work area and retail salesfloor neat, clean, and organized.
• Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
• Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
