About The Position
At Goodwill of North Georgia, donations and sales from its 100+ locations support local job seekers in finding meaningful work. This Sales & Service position is responsible for examining and grading donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. The employee processes goods at an accelerated pace to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. The role also supports a guest-friendly retail experience through customer service, merchandising, sales transactions, teamwork, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
- Must be 18 or older to be certified and licensed to operate a forklift; individuals aged 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors.
- Basic math skills.
- Must begin employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
- Ability to work in heat, cold, and dust.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including bending, reaching, grasping, standing or walking for extended periods, and pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Greet every guest, provide a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
- Maintain a professional, patient, and people-first attitude with guests.
- Transition products to the retail sales floor with attention to detail and urgency.
- Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
- Recommend or upsell merchandise and encourage transaction round-ups.
- Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
- Identify and promptly resolve problems or seek management support.
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests.
- Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
- Perform work according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
- Keep the work area and retail sales floor neat, clean, and organized.
- Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
- Attend and complete required training and meetings.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Examine and grade donated goods for sale and process them to meet production goals.
