About The Position

At Goodwill of North Georgia, sales and donations from more than 100 locations support local job seekers in finding meaningful work. The Sales & Service role is responsible for thoroughly examining and grading donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. The position processes goods at an accelerated pace to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures.

The role also supports a guest-friendly retail experience through customer service, merchandising, sales transactions, teamwork, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Requirements

• Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
• Basic math skills.
• Must start employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
• Must be able to work in conditions including heat, cold, and dust.
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a guest-friendly culture by greeting every guest, delivering the brand experience, and suggesting additional treasures.
• Maintain a professional, patient, and people-first attitude with guests.
• Transition product to the retail sales floor effectively, with attention to detail and urgency.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
• Recommend and upsell merchandise and encourage transaction round-ups.
• Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions with guests.
• Identify and promptly solve problems or seek management support.
• Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests.
• Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
• Perform work tasks according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area and retail sales floor.
• Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
• Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
