About The Position

The Sales & Service team member examines and grades donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. The role processes goods at an accelerated pace to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. Team members support a guest-friendly experience, transition merchandise to the salesfloor, maintain visual merchandising and complete accurate point-of-sale transactions. The position also requires maintaining an organized work area, following safety and security practices, completing required training and meetings, and performing other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Good oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
• Basic math skills.
• Must start employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
• Must be able to work in heat, cold, and dust.
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Must be available to work Monday through Sunday during operating hours as needed.
• Must be 18 or older to become certified and licensed to operate a forklift; employees ages 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest, deliver a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
• Maintain a professional, patient, people-first attitude with guests.
• Transition product to the retail salesfloor with attention to detail and urgency.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
• Recommend or upsell merchandise and encourage round-up donations during transactions.
• Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
• Identify and promptly solve problems or seek management support.
• Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests.
• Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
• Perform tasks according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
• Keep the work area and retail salesfloor neat, clean, and organized.
• Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
• Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
• Examine and grade donated goods for sale in retail stores and process them to meet production goals.
