About The Position

Belfotne is currently looking for a route driver to work Monday - Friday, starting at 3am to finish. Usually 6 to 8 hour shifts. The route sales driver shall be responsible for, but not limited to, driving a truck over an established route to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business. The driver must follow all Department of Transportation regulations. Responsibilities include writing customer orders and instructions, recording sales or delivery information, calling on prospective customers, preparing order forms and sales contracts, informing regular customers of new products or services, and resolving service complaints. The role requires physical activity such as climbing, crawling, and walking to load and unload product, place stock on shelves, and collect empty containers or unsold merchandise. The driver will also need to stack and unstack items weighing up to 50 pounds, and drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds. The position involves working in extreme temperatures (over 100°F and below 32°F) and primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. The successful candidate must maintain the cleanliness of the truck, perform routine maintenance, and operate the vehicle safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have a Class A or B commercial driver’s license
  • Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
  • Past route sales experience
  • A good driving record

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Writes customer orders and instructions.
  • Records sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
  • Calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
  • Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
  • Informs regular customers of new products or services.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints.
  • Load and unload product at destination.
  • Place stock on shelves or racks.
  • Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
  • Stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
  • Drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
  • Load and unload truck and carry merchandise.
  • Work in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
  • Work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
  • Keep the inside of the truck clean.
  • Perform routine maintenance on truck.
  • Work and drive in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
