About The Position

T.G. Lee Dairy is hiring dependable CDL-B delivery truck drivers to operate a straight truck and deliver products safely and on time according to assigned route schedules. Drivers provide high standards of customer service and communicate frequently with peers, supervisors, customers, and others. Route duties may include loading and unloading products, delivering to locations such as schools, grocery stores, and nursing homes, and placing deliveries in coolers or walk-ins. Depending on the route, drivers may also stock, rotate, or order products and provide merchandising support. Drivers are responsible for following DOT, DFA, and company safety requirements; maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment; securing loads; keeping accurate delivery, inspection, and vehicle records; and submitting customer paperwork and deposits daily. They must maintain route inventory and freight-condition records, attend driver training, use company-supported systems, and represent DFA positively and professionally. Other duties may be assigned. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, starting at 3:00 a.m. and ending when the route is complete, usually around 1:00 p.m.; the end time may vary with business needs. The posting states that drivers can make $1,200 to $1,400 per week on average.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B CDL or Class B CDL with Air Brake certification/license.
Meet minimum age requirements.
Meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records.

Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
Proficient computer usage.

Responsibilities

Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, policies, and safety practices.
Deliver pre-ordered and special-order products to customers according to route schedules and delivery expectations, safely and on time.
Follow designated routes and schedules unless directed otherwise by supervisory personnel.
Report delivery delays caused by road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management.
Load and unload products at designated stops as required, including manual handling with a hook, two-wheel cart, or pallet jack.
Stock, rotate, and/or order products when required by the route.
Collect empty cases.
Provide merchandising support based on customer requirements and promote new products when appropriate.
Communicate effectively with customers, maintain good relations, resolve customer complaints, and report problems to the driver supervisor or manager.
Perform or ensure proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment, including checking tires, fuel, and oil, and keep vehicles clean.
Secure the load before travel and at each stop, making adjustments when needed.
Complete daily paperwork accurately, including delivery tickets, pre- and post-trip inspections, driver logs, trip records, and vehicle service reports.
Submit customer paperwork and deposits daily, including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports.
Maintain sufficient route inventory while following account inventory controls and company distribution procedures, and document freight condition before departure.
Attend driver workshops and training sessions.
Use company-supported applications or systems properly.
Represent DFA positively and professionally when interacting with customers and others.
