About The Position

Sutton Swim School is seeking a Sales Representative to build relationships with families considering swim lessons for their children. This role is primarily focused on sales, with customer service as a secondary function. The ideal candidate will be able to close sales not through high pressure, but by genuinely understanding and believing in the services offered. A unique aspect of this position is the requirement to teach one three-hour in-water swim lesson shift per week, for which training will be provided. This role also involves opening or closing the building during shifts and acting as the on-duty point person when the manager is absent. There is a clear career progression path towards Assistant Manager and Customer Service Manager for the right individual.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of sales experience.
  • Comfortable in water.
  • Willing to be trained as a swim instructor.
  • Committed to teaching one three-hour in-water shift per week as a permanent part of the role.
  • Available Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, plus Saturdays 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
  • Genuine interest in building long-term relationships with children and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Selling services and working with families is strongly preferred.
  • Marketing experience (social, email, referral programs, or local community marketing).
  • Supervisory or managerial experience leading a customer-facing team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in another program-based or membership business (gym, music school, tutoring, kids' activities).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective and current families.
  • Listen to customer needs and identify the right swim program fit.
  • Close sales by effectively communicating the value of the swim school's programs.
  • Teach one three-hour in-water swim lesson shift per week.
  • Open or close the building during assigned shifts.
  • Serve as the on-duty point person for staff and families when the manager is not on site.
