The Sales Representative contributes to the growth of the organization through sales of new business through construction and/or services sales. This role involves acquiring sales leads for new work, including the installation, service, and support of comprehensive fire protection systems across all disciplines, and selling Summit's services. The position requires both outside and inside sales efforts, soliciting all building and construction types such as new construction, renovations, additions, and retrofits. The Sales Representative will lead the sales process from initial contact or bid invitation to contract acquisition, generating new relationships and fostering existing ones within the customer base for continued sales. Key responsibilities include generating new proposals, following up on active proposals, closing sales, and communicating the status of active proposals to management. The role also involves attending internal and external meetings, representing the company professionally, and providing general assistance to Project Managers, the Design Department, and Accounting personnel. Utilization of accounting software for tracking costs, billing, and Change Orders, as well as assisting with general marketing activities, are also part of the role. The individual must be a self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication and follow-through skills.
